Many people ask me why I want to build a business and a brand. It's simple: I do this for my family!
I am married to my amazing man, Brian, and we have a beautiful son, Zane. Brian was in the US Army when we first met, so we've traveled quite a lot over the years. It's been a crazy ride!
We are masters of our own destinies! That's good and bad. It's bad because we are 100% responsible for changing our lives for the better and pursuing our dreams; it's good because we are 100% responsible for changing our lives for the better and pursuing our dreams! Do you get it?!
Perspective matters!
I am so psyched every freaking day cuz I wake up ready to make my life my own- I don't have to work to make someone else's dreams come true. Sure, it's hard, can be stressful, and sometimes I wanna punch a hole through my laptop, but, dang it, I have one life!
I work hard. Every. Single. Day. I am creating a better life for my family and I love this game!
Being an artistic entrepreneur (or business-minded artist, whatever you prefer), I love learning, growing, reading, and teaching. The game of entrepreneurship is the greatest game in the world and I am proud to be part of it!

This book is wonderful! It help you to get you of your shell, share your journey, and show what you have to offer! Showing people a peek behind the curtain, showing what you do daily helps build rapport, trust, and anticipation from your fans and customers.
It is an easy read and I recommend it to everyone who is serious about getting discovered and building your own business.

If your business is not online, then, frankly, it doesn't exist. The most valuable real estate in the world is the internet because people are spending more time on their phones than anything else. This book will show you real strategies that actually work to get your products, services, blog, YouTube channel, etc, in front of people.
The cover says "The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company Online" and that's exactly what it does- it isn't fluff or filler, nor is it vague theories and concepts. No, there are actual steps for you to follow, and if you do them, your online presence WILL grow! A lot!

"Expert Secrets" by Russell Brunson
This book is the second book in Russell Brunson's secrets of pure awesomeness (DotCom Secrets is the first)! For real though, this book dives deep into the secrets of creating a mass movement and building your tribe- people who love you and are willing to pay you for your advice.
Everyone is an expert at something- you don't have to be the best in the world to be an expert, not even close! You just have to know a little bit more than some people. For example, my 5-year old son is an expert at making animal noises; he is seriously so good at it that if he could write a book on how to make these individual noises, people who would buy it!

The Right Mindset
Four things I do every day to stay ahead of the game and keep winning!
1. Read
Every single successful person have one thing in common: they are readers! I have personally met 6, 7, and even 8-figure business owners and entrepreneurs and they all say they read every day.
Well, I am no fool! Those people are where I wanna be, so I'm gonna do whatever they do. I usually read in the morning because it is a great way to wake up.
One of my professors in art school said this to me, "Great art takes two things: curiosity and discipline". I am curious AF and lifelong learning is a huge passion of mine. Reading every day is a way to learn new things every day!
Take 20-30 minutes to read each day. It doesn't matter if you prefer eReaders like a Kindle or Nook, or if you like real books, read every day. Pick a time that's best for you: in the morning, just before bed, or even on your lunch break; whatever works best for you!
2. Listen to podcasts
I don't listen to just any podcast... There's a metric tonne of tripe out there where people are just running their mouths and not giving any value. I listen to podcasts that help me learn... to become a better entrepreneur and a better person.
One thing that I love about podcasts is that they're free. Anyone can listen for free on iTunes and Spotify (my 2 fav places). I'm sure there are other places, but I like iTunes and Spotify because they're like all-in-one platforms- you can find so many podcasts in one place.
I subscribe to entrepreneurs' podcasts because not only do they give great business advice, they also give a lot of value on lifestyle and mindset. Why? Because mindset + skillset = success!
Daily Engagement
I take time every day to post on my fav social media platforms, my fan page, and on my blog. I want to show my work, what I'm doing each day, give value, and also engage with my followers.
I work really hard to comment on each comment and reply to every message. I want my followers to know that I care and that I appreciate them. It can be difficult some days cuz things come up or I get a lot in one day, so I occasionally miss a few, but not often. This was hard for me to learn because I'm naturally shy, so this was a feat for me.
Showing your work, documenting your day, and engaging with your audience builds rapport and trust. If you don't have those two things, your business will not survive.

Mastermind
Masterminding every day with my mentors and peers is one of the most influential things that drives my success. Masterminding in person is amazing, but if you can mastermind online using messages, video calls, and email.
How do you get where you want to be? By following the advice of someone who is already where you want to be. Get around them- in person if you can. Live events are where you actually get to absorb their energy and their passion. I am a huge advocate of live events. However, being in their online space is great too!
Listen to podcasts, engage in their fan pages, Instagram, and Twitter. Do whatever you gotta do because motivation doesn't last long on your own.
