Operation Underground Railroad
Founded in December 2013, Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) is fighting the war of child trafficking and slavery.

Contrary to what we believe, modern slavery absolutely exists in every country in the world. OUR is inspired by Harriet Tubman- a brave African-American woman who helped slaves escape from the South in the United States, to the North where slavery was illegal and they could find freedom.

OUR stands firm in their belief that it is our duty to help and I couldn't agree more!
Founder Tim Ballard has a team of former Special Ops, CIA, and Navy SEALs working with local law enforcement all over the world to help find these victims, get them out, and bring justice to their captors. They are also in the forefront of the fight against child exploitation. Truly, they are serving for the most noble cause- protecting those who cannot protect themselves... innocent children!

"How can I help?"

Visit their website https://ourrescue.org/ and choose from a variety of options: you can donate money, volunteer your time, get trained to help in their fight to know the signs and break the chain in your community, you can also become an Abolitionist and donate just a little bit every month.

Fight the New Drug
Fight the New Drug (FTND) was founded to provide scientific research-based education about the harms of pornography. They are not affiliated with any religion or any legislation- just pure information so people can make an informed decision about porn.
Pornography changes the chemistry of the brain, can cause harm to relationships, can weaken one's sex drive and make sex with a real person less pleasurable. It is also inseparably linked to human trafficking as many trafficked victims are portrayed in pornographic films by their captors to advertise their "wares", so to speak. FTND aims to educate and raise awareness of this new drug
Don't be confused; FTND is sex positive. They fight for real love and healthy relationships, which include a healthy sex life. They also believe in the freedom of choice. They aren't shoving their views down your throat and saying that if you view porn, then you're a bad person. Quite the contrary! They believe that people have the right to choose whether or not to view it- and those who choose to view it should know what they're getting into.
They also provide help for those whose spouses or significant others are addicted to porn, plus help for those who are addicted and want help and support.

4Ocean
Founded by 2 surfers, Andrew Cooper and Alex Schulze, 4Ocean is on a mission to clean up the oceans, one pound at a time. All the plastic trash that plagues our oceans threaten the marine environment and also the lives of people who depend on the ocean to survive.
In just over 2 years, 4Ocean has removed over 4 million pound of trash from the ocean and beaches all over the world, plus they have been able to create jobs for people as well!

4Ocean also focuses on education and awareness. Without healthy oceans, our planet will not survive. They aim to spread the word about cleaning up trash and recycling plastic. They are on the coastlines and oceans 24/7 cleaning up the trash, and since they have given ocean plastic monetary value, they are helping the economy as well.

"How can I help?"
Visit their website https://4ocean.com/ and purchase one (or more) of their bracelets. Theses bracelets fund their efforts. Each bracelet = one pound of trash taken out the ocean. You can buy just one bracelet or get their limited edition ones with their monthly subscription. The bracelets are made 100% out of recycled materials. Or, if you're not into bracelets, get one of their reusable water bottles. This will help reduce waste by not having to use plastic, disposable water bottles- and they also will fund the removal of one pound of trash from the ocean.
Do you want to make a greater impact? 4Ocean sells their own clean-up bags and gloves, where you can start in your community cleaning up trash by your coastlines, rivers, nature parks and more! Plus, these bags fund taking TWO pounds of trash out of the ocean!
Life's Worth Living Foundation
Based out of Tooele, Utah, the Life's Worth Living Foundation is making strides in raising awareness for depression and suicide. Founded by Jon and Tracy Gossett in March 2014, they started this organization after someone very close to them committed suicide.  After doing research, they found that suicide is an epidemic in Utah, especially among young men and women.

They do fundraisers, a 100-mile walk to Wendover, Nevada, and host events throughout the year to raise awareness and education. They even have resources for people who struggle with suicidal thoughts or depression to get them help, plus education for family and friends to help these struggling individuals!

"How can I help?"

You can donate directly to their cause on their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pg/lifesworthlivingfoundation/. You can also volunteer at their events or their support groups. Connect with them and help save lives!

Ronald McDonald House Charities
The Ronald McDonald House Charities sits closer to home for me, my husband Brian, and our son Zane. When Zane was born, he was air-lifted to UNC hospital to their NICU because they had higher quality and higher tech facilities. It was an emergency situation, but I don't wanna say exactly what happened.

Anyway, we were living in Fayetteville, NC at the time, which is and hour and a half away from UNC. We couldn't keep traveling back and forth because we wanted to be within a few minutes from the hospital, but we didn't have enough cash to stay at a hotel- the hospital was planning on having Zane there for at least a week...
Thankfully, there was RMHC lodging right across the street from the hospital. It gave us a place to stay and shower, they fed us, and there were other parents there for the same reason. The whole place was warm, friendly, clean, and the volunteers were just the nicest people. They ask a donation of $5/day that you stay, but it is not required. It worked out perfectly! We were able to stay close to Zane without camping out in our car!

RMHC does more than just lodging. They provide resources for families that are struggling to stay together and also help families with their healthcare. What the best part? 100% of proceeds go to these causes, helping millions of people all over the country!
